How AJWP looks after players and families — and where to go if something doesn't feel right.

AJWP follows the integrity and safeguarding frameworks of Water Polo Australia, Water Polo NSW, and Far North Coast Water Polo. We are the FNC club at Alstonville Pool, and we work within that parent association so families know how to raise a concern and who will listen.

Players, coaches, officials, volunteers, and families all share a responsibility to keep water polo safe, fair, and welcoming. If you are unsure who to contact, start with the club — we will help you find the right path.

Our commitment to safety and integrity

AJWP is committed to protecting children, young people, and every member of our water polo community. In line with Water Polo Australia, Water Polo NSW, and FNC, we want the pool to stay a safe, fair, respectful, and welcoming place — with positive, inclusive experiences for juniors and their families.

Water polo should be a safe and fair place for everyone. We encourage members to raise concerns about behaviour they have witnessed or experienced, and to seek guidance on integrity, safeguarding, and member welfare. Please take time to know the policies that sit behind our season, and help us look after one another.

Understanding sport integrity

Sport integrity can be compromised by various threats, including:

  • Competition manipulation and sports gambling
  • Doping and the improper use of drugs and medicines
  • Discriminatory, bullying, harassment, or abusive behaviours that negatively impact participation and enjoyment of sport
  • Any conduct that undermines the safety and wellbeing of participants, particularly children and young people

Integrity in sport means players, coaches, officials, volunteers, supporters, and spectators can enjoy water polo in a safe, fair, and inclusive environment. Every AJWP member shares that responsibility — protecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of everyone involved.
